🚨We need to talk about the $AAOI call... The narrative is shifting. This is the moment a traditional hardware vendor begins its transition into a pure datacenter supplier. The thesis is playing out in real time. See quoted post. The biggest takeaway from the call for me was a massive revenue projection that resets the stock’s potential. Management laid out highly ambitious targets, grounded in what they believe they can physically manufacture rather than simply stating theoretical demand. 1. The $378 Million Monthly Target Management guided that by mid 2027, they expect to hit roughly $378 million in monthly transceiver revenue. That breaks down to $217 million for 800G, $71 million for 1.6T, and $90 million for 100G and 400G. If they execute, that is a multibillion dollar annualized run rate. They emphasized that this number is limited strictly by their own manufacturing capacity and the supply chain, as actual customer demand is much larger. 2. In House Laser Capabilities and CPO Demand Their new 400mW laser is a key catalyst. Management confirmed that Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) will continue to drive increased demand for high power lasers. The industry is currently facing a laser shortage, with some suppliers quoting lead times of over a year. Because AOI manufactures their own indium phosphide lasers in house, they are able to avoid some of the shortages that affect others. To meet the AI demand, they plan to more than triple their laser manufacturing capacity in Texas by mid next year. By the end of this year, over 95% of their lasers will be dedicated AI lasers. 3. The Tariff Hedge and Made in USA Moat While many were watching for CHIPS Act funding to justify the massive Texas expansion, management highlighted a different financial catalyst. By scaling up manufacturing in the U.S., they are building a supply chain that avoids import tariffs. Management specifically noted that less than 10% of the component value for their 800G and 1.6T transceivers is currently sourced from China, and they have a clear path to reduce that to near zero. By the end of next year, they expect 55% to 65% of all 800G and 1.6T manufacturing to be physically located in the U.S. 4. The 800G Ramp and 400G Strength Initial Q4 revenue for 800G came in below expectations. Management clarified this was strictly due to firmware optimizations needed for customer interoperability across various platforms, not hardware issues. They expect this final hurdle to be cleared by mid March, allowing a strong volume ramp. In the meantime, 400G sales skyrocketed 141% year over year in Q4, bridging the gap until 800G takes over as the dominant revenue driver in Q2. CEO Thompson Lin also noted they expect to receive over $100 million in 800G orders and over $200 million in 1.6T orders within the next few months. 5. Massive Customer Diversification Historically penalized for single customer reliance, AOI is rapidly expanding its base. Management revealed that a U.S. based hyperscaler became a greater than 10% revenue customer in Q4 for the first time in a long time. Additionally, a brand new hyperscale customer began qualification discussions for 800G and 1.6T just a few weeks ago. The CEO explicitly projected that they will have three hyperscale data center customers each representing more than 10% of total revenue for the year. 6. The Exact Profitability Catalyst AOI reported $134.3 million in Q4 GAAP revenue, bringing the full year to $455.7 million. Management gave us a concrete timeline for the bottom line, expecting to achieve sustainable non GAAP profitability beginning in Q2 of this year. Looking ahead, they project full year 2026 revenue of over $1 billion with a non GAAP operating profit of over $120 million. As the product mix shifts toward 1.6T products, they expect overall transceiver gross margins to hit 35% to 38% by mid 2027, eventually reaching their 40% target by Q4 2027. 7. Cable TV Moderation and the $300 Million Runway The CATV business hit its exact Q4 expectation of $54.0 million. Management explicitly confirmed that generating nearly $300 million annually from this segment remains feasible as they expand their footprint with a newer set of MSO customers. What I Am Watching Closely As exciting as this call was, there are clear execution risks we need to keep a close eye on as always: Execution Risk on CapEx: Tripling laser capacity and bringing new clean rooms online in Texas is a heavy logistical lift. We need to watch if they can hit their target of 500,000 units per month of 800G and 1.6T capacity by the end of 2026 without construction or qualification delays. Funding the Gap: They are rapidly expanding their Texas footprint to meet this backlog. We will be watching the balance sheet closely to see how they fund this heavy upfront capital expenditure before the massive $1 billion revenue run rate actually materializes. They did a 250m ATM offering today. Need to see how that gets utilized. Firmware Timelines: The entire 800G volume ramp depends on finishing those firmware tweaks by mid March. We need to ensure that timeline does not slip into the summer. Lastly, this is still an EXECUTION story. The story got alot more interesting but they need to execute. All in all, if management can execute on their vision for 2027, we are looking at a massive re-rate. We’re talking about a (currently) ~4B company projecting $1b in revenue in CY 2026. Then ~387m/month starting sometime mid 2027. >4B ARR If you think all photonics names are overvalued.... Disclaimer: None of this is financial advice. This name has historically seen big swings and I anticipate that continuing. I am long and building my position after this earnings.

I don't know what happens in the short term $AAOI If the market appreciate what was said, this should be over $100 fast If not, we might see it stay in that 50-60 range For me, I bought at the highs during the call yesterday and my plan is to make this one of, if not the largest photonics position in my port I accept the risk of management needing to execute. That's something ill monitor closely. People often talk about all the companies being over valued. We might just have one here that isnt Not financial advice!
